how often do you save?

yeah man, i also save when the beat is done, or when im goin to sleep

yea,i save it once its done,then i put it into my computer,track tha beat out then back it all up,but besides that i dont save at all

well I make music over the course of weeks so saving is essential. I save every time I think about it when I am working on the computer. When I am working on hardware I feel fine not saving till I am done using the machine for the session.

Plus losing a beat doen't really bug me all that much even if it was really ill. I know that I can make more and different exciting material.

Make that shit common practice man....SAYG (SAVE AS U GO!)!

I go a step further(or is it farther?) and dont save at all to be completly honest. If I do somethin I like it gets tracked into PT and I turn off the MPC without saving.

Yo Smoove03, I have the same problem...But, I bought a battery backup about 1.5 years ago...It has never shut off during a power out again...I was flipping beats during Hurricane Dennis, Ivan, Irene, Katrina, etc...This thing is ill...all of my power went out in my house, but my MPC stays on for like 45 minutes...

I *save* as often *save* as possible during the *save* course of a beat *save* cos you never know *save* when the MPC might *save* ....*CRASH !* ...fcuk !

...and you don't wana loose a hit record ! ...or what might have been a hit record !

If you like it, save it! ...oh and back it up too for Gods sake !

i save when i shut the mpc off... i still have a beat loaded that i did on saturday and i havent touched since.. lol.. i am lazy

Wow you cats that leave your MPC on all night or days on end are scary! Arent you all afraid of your backlight going out or your MP blowing up, catching fire, or simply just dying?

Oh, I save alot more frequently now thanks to this post. Before I would save when I had to stop or I programed something really amazing.

^^^^^ I used to leave my MPC on for the whole week when I had a floppy drive installed as saving was more like a chore... but with the CF reader now... easy !

If it's a good beat, I would advise saving on more than one disk.

I've learned the hard way that disks can get messed up, or you can push a wrong button and write over something important (like late at night when your mind starts to fade).......I've lost shtt that has set me back several days of work.

Not fun.

thats wassup. never thought about that. what kind of mpc do you have? so what you plug the cord into the battery pack or something? where did you get yours?

I have a 2000 xl. You plug the MPC chord into the battery backup. They have all different types. Some just stay on for 10-15 mins. They sell them at Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, etc...They work really good...it'll run you moreless about $100. Glad to help...PEACE...

I have to say my MPC is quite stable.
The only way to make it freeze is to "purge" while the song is playing.. BAD THING TO DO !!!!!
