mpc 2000xl with 8 outs and mixer?

i was going to cop a mackie 1604 mixer to use with my mpc 2000xl and roland xv-3080 (still waiting for it to arrive)

the 2000xl has the 8 outputs......does it matter how many channels i have on my mixer to make the most out of the gear i currently have? the 1604 has 16 channels, but if i don't need all that i can always downgrade to a 1402 (12 channels)

i also plan on hooking my turntable and computer (to record) up to the mixer as well (and in the near future, i'll be getting a nord lead 2 rack)....with all of this hardware, should i just go for the 16 channel mixer??

All you need is one stereo and 8 mono channels. You should get the 16 in case you get more gear down the road.
