i like the sound of it but it's always too loud right? i just realized you can put a compressor after it (in FX2) to lower the volume. it uses up your second effect but you wont have to resample..

just set the bit grunger depth to 1 instead of 4..? i think that should work..?

...How about simply turning down the volume for the specific sample in the mixer or in the program??

and the winner is ....................

I'm pretty sure the bit grunger compresses the sample already

nah y'all arent seeing the whole thing

if you set the bit grunger to 1 you dont get a lot of distortion. let's say you want a lot. although even setting it to 1 can make the sound too loud in the mix sometimes

you cant turn down the sample in the pgm or mixer cuz then youre lowering the sample's feed into the bit grunger. so you lose distortion, and have to turn up the bit grunger again. and youre once again stuck with a sound that is too loud for your mix.

what im saying is, use a compressor in FX2, but dont compress - set the controls for neutral (unless you want to further compress). just use the makeup gain on the compressor to control the volume of the bit grunger's output.

get it now?

Ahh, I see what you mean now. I'd prefer to resample it then, wouldn't wanna use up both FX on something like that.

sometimes i dont want to resample for one reason or another. this is another way.

But this would be a good time to resample if your'e using it on a single sound sample like a snare.. if you are using it on some chopped up sample I deffinetly see your point - otherwise I don't

By tiger vomitt Tue Sep 20, 2005 2:33 pm
that is exactly my point

like if you dont wanna resample a whole bunch of pads

for one pad, yeah i do that all the time
