I have just copped a mac g3 laptop to go alongside my mpc 2k.

My problem is this -

Do I need a soundcard / audio interface?? if so whats best for the money?

what program is best for slicing and exporting wavs out to the mpc?

should I get another programme , such as logic audio, to track my semi finished tracks into so I can lay down vocals etc. ? - As a computer user at work I always want a more linear view of whats happening?

I am limited space wise, which is why I got the mpc / laptop in the first place.

I had searched the forums already but no solutions lept out at me!!

Thanks in advance for any help you might offer - much appreciated!

London heads rockin the same setup - mail me thru the PM

cheers guys

i have a similar setup. you need to look into either a firewire or usb soundcard. mbox comes with protools le and is firewire. check out soundforge or peak or wavelab for 2 track editing. you can lace up all your tracks individually in protools then record vocals too. mbox is the best deal i can think of cuz you get the soundcard and software for under $500. not too bad. there are plenty of other options though depending on your budget. pick up a sweetwater catalog and scope it out.
