it all depends on how long your 4 bar loops are. with the memroy you can hold about 24min of samples in mono and 12min in stero. and you can speed the sample up to 45 and squeeze out a little more sample time.

your going to need some music thery if you can't count bars, but I will give you a basic idea. When you listen to most hip hop its in 4/4 time. What that means is that when you nod you head thats 1 beat. so when you knod you head for times thats 4 beats which equals 1 bar. Now the task for you is to figure out when do you start knooding your head. You should feel it.

you count bars by tapping the large metal poles in front of your bed with an empty tin cup.

just having a little fun at your expense ENT

u count bars like this - usually the snare hits, like in "10 crack commandments" for instance, are on beats 2 and 4. if you count 1 and 3 in their order you will count one, two, three, four. that makes up one bar. every time you've counted to 4 in that kind of bar you will have completed one measure. count em up and there you go.

i know the concept behind bars...but what confussed me was when people say to sample 2 bars...do the actualy sit there and figure out what the two bars are or do they have some type of clock or something to look apon that allows them to know that they have just sampled 2 bars....

since i am taking a brief dinner break from my production, i will take this spare time to do what i like to do best--have fun at a deserving someone else's expense.

let's all be seated and get class started.

ent, let's analyze your star studded metaphor of kids in a classroom to the reality of what these forums are all about.

you compare yourself to a child who sits in front of class and asks questions. this would relate directly to the initiator of a question in the form of a post, ie you.

let's go a bit further. of whom are the children asking their questions? the teacher. who would the counterpart of the teacher be in the case of the mpc forums?

users with more knowledge than you.

and for the record, i was the kid who sat at the back of the class and laughed at the vacuous egomaniacs who jabbered, pointed, and spoke in elipses in the front.

my laughter at their antics got me through high school sane...as it does today.

and that is exaclty why you sat there and got into someone elses business and took the time to try and be funny and make me feel even more dumb right? Well honeslty if you were going to try and poke fun at me you could have came at me harder man....yeah you were clever to say "let's all be seated and get class started" but then what?....but yeah your right i did use a metaphore with the whole class room thing, so why try and take it out of context? Well im gonna just leave it at this man.....all i wanted to know was why people tripped so much over others questions.....hey but i guess people like you dogg just woke up one day with music theory and the manual and the whole nine just all in your head already. Plus i bet all your knowlege came from listening to others asking questions and hearing the responses, but not just becasue you were scared to ask but becasue you didnt know what to ask. So i take it man that you should be thanking people like us who know what to ask and not ashame or scared of bettering are selves.....in other wards your a "dummy" you know like them dolls with a hand stuck up its ass. THe only things that come out your mouth are the things that came out of others......well let me go back to counting bars once again....1 um 2 um, what comes after that?
