For those who are wondering what you can do with a kaosspad i made a little clip just going trough some effects from 1 to 99.
I'm just playing a loop i downloaded somewhere out of my mpc all the time so you can focus on the effects. Near the end of the movie you'll hear some of the internal sounds that it has (it has a few synths that you can control with the x-y pad and drumbeats that will respond on the x-y pad ánd the bpm).
Effects 90 to 99 are made specially for the 2 sample banks that the kp2 has, in which you can sample 6 seconds in each. You can either trigger a sample by pushing the pad on the unit, and by pushing the hold button next to it, you can loop the sampled sample. Then u can use ANY effects on the looped sample. 90 to 99 will only respond if you sampled something into the pads. You cannot save samples in the banks. Take notice that the sample banks are not of high quality, When you sample something in it that's 44khz it will sound like 22 to 33khz, if you know what i'm saying. It really depands on what you sample though, one time its almost as 'nice' as the original, while other times it sounds like poop.
There is a little handle on the side where you can mute your incoming signal with, you'll see it when you hear the reverb effect.
For the delay and some other effects, you need to tap the bpm along to get the nicest/tightest effect.
My personal cons:
- Have u ever touched an electric guitar? Its like when u just tap the strings with your skin, not playing the strings...u can hear this little rattle..tuk tuk tuk. The kaoss pad does the same thing, even when it's grounded
- Some effects are lo-fi (or not 44khz) and mono! Take notice!
- Can't save samples in the banks
- Only cinch ins and out
