Yo Nick how much did it hit you for in US dollars? Did you get the CD burner or HD?

i believe you have the option of getting both, not just one or the other.

It was 190000 Yen with 128MB so which is about $1750 in US
I don't have either CD-Rom or HDD. Akai haven't announced which CD-ROM D or HDD I could use yet. They are not available at the moment.
Once I know, I would go for a HDD

question, man - this is something i've wondered. are the pads the same build as the 1000, or do they seem more along the lines of the 2000xl, etc? the poor quality of the 1k pads seem to be an issue in the 1k forums.

i'm curious on this, as it would make or break my case to buy one.

"this is something i've wondered. are the pads the same build as the 1000, or do they seem more along the lines of the 2000xl, etc?"

An MPC1000 owner in the UK that played with one recently told me that the pads were a little bigger the MPC2500.

"the poor quality of the 1k pads seem to be an issue in the 1k forums."

With replacements at only 16 USD each, I would pretty much consider them disposable (much like regular keyboard assemblies).

I think by bad pads. hes talking about losing sensitivity (defective sensors). Which I just had 4 of mine replaced, and believe me I don't hit my pads that hard either. Keyword defective. But back on the topic. The 25oo looks very ill.

i'm also talking about the difference in pad quality between the 1000 and the 2000. personally i've never played with a 2000 but people talk and say the pads are better (less unpredictable, better for live use, etc)

2nd question - can you trim the sample via the sliders?
