i was looking for that represent original but couldnt find it. i figured id post this one instead. its called mind rain by Joe Chambers. ny state of mind

It's cool to hear the original song that someone has sampled. Just the other day I found the originals of "Too Late" by Talib Kweli and "Guaranteed" by DJ Babu and The Dialted Peoples. Personally, even if the song has been sampled already it's a good feeling.

Did you plan on digging for all those originals or did you just stumble upon them. Most of the time I'm just listening to a record and all of a sudden I hear the part that they sampled. :)

i just collect music. most of the sampled stuff i got i stumbled across while diggin on the net. i got a lot of vinyl to, but most of it is the more commercially sampled stuff, ie isaac hays, joe simon, janis joplin and the eagles.

one of my favorites is nina simone-sinnerman kanye freaked it.

I only buy records like that for listenin purposes.

When it comes to sampling, I try to find the most obscure records I can get my hands on.

those records i bought when i first statred sampling. i started buying more popular records just to get an idea of what people were listening to, and then sampling. get it? now im heavy into crazy stuff like chopan and stereo check out records. some crazy stuff. yesterday i bought a record titled "1963 winsoncin university orchestra".
