Yeah my Undo buttons gone. Piece of crap, how dare they build them so poorly then charge so much. How can a button on a 30 year old TV be fine, but on a year old MPC fall off

you dont have to flowers punch the buttons, just a nice and easy push.

it would be real nice if someone who knows something about electronic found out how to repair these problems. (unfortunately i don't)

maybe if those with probs with there mpc open it and post pics of the faultuy parts, it would be usefull.

16 USD for a replacement Pad
55 cent for a replacement switch

Doesn't sound like much of a problem as long as you replace them yourself.

real talk.

like someone said above, it would be great if someone would post something somewhere about how to replace that stuff yourself, or a video or something.

if anyone knows about anything like that, post it!

my mpc isnt actually wearing out yet, but im worried it might at some point not to far in the futer. the pads are declining in responsiveness.

to replace the switches is very easy but you need to know how to solder properly all you need is desolder pump to remove the old solder to get the faulty switches off then just resolder the new one ( with a soldering iron like a weller with a fine tip ) ( dont use the one your parents may have in the garage thats used on home appliences ) ,, just reolder it just like it looked before you took the old one off , very very basic but if you have no experience you might damage other things as well as the pcb but really its not that difficult

i dont smash the buttons dude(s)

i mainly use it for banging out LIVE drums, without using the full level button of course, so it sounds real-er...people with rythm and drumming skill know what im talking about. im not takling about u cats that are just pressing the pads on full level entering them into the t/c'd sequences.. anyone can do that. playin the pads live and keeping a beat with rolls and hat switchups and toms rides and incorporating the whole program into the beat on time is a different story. anyways, i never f*cking SmaSHED or baSHED my pads...i was always carefull with them i mean youd be stupid to spend over a grand on something and treat it like a toy. the point is the pads i used the most still wore out and lost their sensitivity...this is what pisses me off, and the fact i can not fix the problem pisses me off even more. im going to see if i can trade it in for a black one and pay the difference or something. anyways f*ck akai, money hungry bitches. but thanks for making the machines, at least they last a year.

soldering is not an issue. the mpc under warranty is why im not changing the switch. i wouldn't use desoldering pump btw that is used when removing a big amount of solder. soldering wick does the job when desoldering the switch.

no broken pads here.
