filtering and bass

Whats up i have a 2000xl and 1000 and i wanted to add a 60 to my setup i can get a 12-bit machine in the mix but i have a few questions about the 60.
1. I heard that mpc 60 has no filters and if thats true how do you filter your samples

2. Since the 60 has no filters how does that effect your bass seeing as how you will not be able to manipulate the lows

I really want to purchase a mpc 60 and i'm sure there are some work arounds but i just wanted to know what i'm getting before i buy it. Thanks in advance for the replies

Since u already have 2 MPCs and don't plan on letting either of them go, I would suggest getting an S950. It's got the 12 bit that u r wanting, it has filters and it costs less than an MPC 60. Just breaking it down from my perspective. Hope that helps. -uno-

thanks man I was acutally thinking about that as an option but i just really wanted a roger linn mpc. Could some clever eqing take the place of filtering?

If u want the name then get it. I don't miss filters at all. It sounds that dope without them. If it doesn't sound tight from the get on the 60 then I reconsider my source sample, na mean? A 60 and an EQ and u'll be mad straight. Be prepared 2 let 1 of them other MPCs go though (my bets on the 2000XL). It's like that... u've been warned. -uno-

yeah you filter externally if you need to, you just cant filter with the 60.

Thanks for the replies. I think that I will go for the 60. If I need to filter a sample I will probably just do it on the 1000. And yeah the 2000xl will probably be gone.

I like EQing better than filtering. Filters take away too much 'meat' of the sound.

the 1000 filters are cool. and as for the camels, get "the easy way to stop smoking" by allen carr, read it and your cravings are gone.

Dunno. Im just using the built in filter on 3k.

it's not bad filter but analog is much better, so EQ might be better.
