help getting the LCD screen out

I read the FAQ's and the only thing I saw was in Japan. I have already taken the sides of the MPC off but I don't know if I have to get the screen out first or what to take the top off....

here's waht I want to do...

get new pads and clean the sensors

take the screen out so I can send it to Alesis or whoever...thanks

You mean telesis. you just have to be patient and unscrew until you get where you want. Slowly and using common sense, and no rushing. The PDF for installing the upgrades has disassembly instructions.

I got the sides off El and I see that there are 4 screws on the back of the display, two which I can't get to. And one on the side, that is also for the back light.

After that, there are the screws on the bottom of the thing, which I don't think I want to unscrew just to get the top open and the arm rest. I tried to pry the armrest up, but it looks as though I **** up half of it already, trying to do that because it's screwed in from the bottom....

In the FAQ and at rger Linn's site. the sides don;t have to come off (mk I ) you need to unscrew the two screws BELOW each of the side panels near the front, then it flips up like a car hood easily. Then you unscrew the screws underneath the display, IIRC they act like hinges, then disconnect the ribbon connectors (make sure you will be able to connect them back correctly, you can mark them with a marker) then you can pull out the display, the screws on the back of the display are best kept in as te,esis or whoever does your backlight can unscrew them and put them back when they are done.

no not yet, I'm still getting together the new setup...it's a pain learning new programs and all. I switched from PC to Mac, from a standalone recorder to computer based, and I'm searching for a mixer and Juno 106 as I type this......

but back to the issue, I'm going to have to send it in to VST. I remember trying to set the midi program #'s in sequential orrder last year and having it reset everytime I turned it off so I'll need a new battery and I'm basically giong to have VST do that, the screen and install new pads, when I get around to it.

On my 3000 the light is very faint, i can only see the light if all the lights are off, can that be easily replace, how much would it coast?

used to live in Topeka, but now I'm in Lawrence going to school at KU...I bought another MPC 60 and sold it on here, with some drama, from Ras Reb in KC and there is this dude Beatbroker I know of in KC who has a 60 as well.

I drove to KC today and he put that LCD in and DAMN! shit is bright as fuk, I love it....

and 2wice has some heaters on the low, real nice stuff...he also showed me some things on the S950 so I'm going to hang on to that for a minute and try to get busy
