Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i searched and i couldnt find a similar topic, but i just put in one of my zip disk in my 2000xl and it made a weird ass noise, i then tried pushing the eject button but no dice the disk wont come out. a little help would be apreciated thank you, shit really sucks

Ok I had this happening in the end to my internal zip drive that was dying on me. What basically happened was the head that's supposed to read your disk did not retract anymore so it was still 'reading' the disk. I had to take out the zip drive and replaced it with an internal card reader.

cool thanks for the help, the zip drive had been acting up a little while ago but it looks like ima have to replace it with a card reader, im just kind of bummed i lost the beats on the zip disk, cause i have no idea on how to get it out with out damaging the disk but o well cant win em' all

You might as well try (assuming you haven't already). Get a card reader and just take the zip drive apart piece by piece and see if you can get the disk out without causing harm. I'd be clueless when it comes to the construction of disk drives but I'd give it a go for sure.

Co-sign. just 'peel' the drive of the disk. Take your time an you'll be fine. You might even take pictures of iit and post em here so we can all marvel on what a diassembled zip drive looks like :lol:
