I was just wondering if this was true but I heard you could install a special hard drive in the mpc 1000.

If you look at the very bottom of the MPC1000 product page at www.akaipro.com you'll see they've tested and approved three HDs. However, there is still a problem with connecting these devices as the connections in the MPC are slightly different. Apparently there's a HD-pack coming soon from Akai enabling you to install and use these hard drives. We might need an OS update too, but nobody is quite sure yet. We'll just have to wait and see really.

It's nice to help people on these forums, but sometimes people don't think before they speak. When you first join these forums you want all the help you can get, but after a while you learn that you can get all that help just by searching. If you search, you will probably get a better answer than you did from a user who replied to your post. That has happened to me lots of times. If I search and I don't get the information I need, then I post.

I hear that there is a jumper on the main board. It can be switched from Blue to Black thus changing the colour of your MPC1K. Just a rumour though.

I've been trying all the jumpers in my MPC1K to change the colors (instead of black I'm trying to change it to Green).
The problem is now my MPC1K is all messed up! It only plays songs by tony toni tone and Jackson Brown. Help!

Sh!t, man! Feel for you there. Apparently, if you save a Prog using the name Glen Medeiros, you gain access to special factory menus that can save you from Toni Tone, etc. It's a littleknown MPC fact that Glen invented the currwnt swing templates used in the MPC for his worlwide smash Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You.
