whats up peeps . i have just got an 2000xl upgrade from a 2000 , had the 2000 for 3 weeks but got a good deal on a 2000xl with fx ,8 out , smpte board zip and cd rom ., i dont know but the 2000xl is sweet and looks to be easier to use than the 2000, locked it to my tascam 2488 lastnight , and all is well ,

only thing say i have a piano sample , when i hit a pad the sound play on eg. echo , how do u cut off the extra lenth with out have to trim the sample
i want the pad to be ,the longer i press it the longer it plays ?

Nice setup (I hope you ain't smokin around all that gear!? )

Go into the PARAM screen of program mode on the mpc, you will see where you can set the sample/pad to either poly, mono, or note off. The mpc sets all pads to poly as default, which is what you got at the moment. What you want is 'note off'.

do you lock your 2488 with akai. took me 3 hours to get it locked last night, its mad cool, but i got loads of things to learn as am new to it

I got the same Keyboard I knew that what it was I use it as a controller. It was a gift from and old co-worker. she said she didnt use it and wanted to just give it away to some one who would. Well I have in fact it the only original piece of gear I have from when I first started. THANK RITA

Cigarette smoke will, over time, cause a noticable build up of tar residue on the surfaces it contacts. This will damage your equipment. Obviously not immediately, it would take a while I think, but still, its a good idea to smoke outside.
