the 60 knocks so hard it brings tears to my eyes

so after route66 finally delivered that 3.10 i thought it was time to actually power this baby up, i mean its been 6 months since my seatown connect sent it across the pond. yes im british but i type in american accent get over it. anyways i flipped the lid (for any upgraders the hardest part is not having the lid crash down on the unit whilst its precariously propped up) and flipped the chips so i can better chop and flip and flip the script.

i got kinda blase blahzah halfway thru and realised i had bent an eprom pin and also left a 2.12 chip inside the unit but i regrouped and made it all happen in the end so alls well that ends ok. The disks route66 supplied (808 kit etc) didnt work (they were on HD - wtf?) but i had a few samples and spent an hour trying to blow my eardrums out with my beyer dt250's.

anyway i'm not telling any of you cats anything you don't already know but this unit is a MONSTER the snap the knock the crunch the click the weight and just the whole overall steez what a nasty machine big up roger you really did drop a serious piece on the market god bless ya i'm finna revolutionise the whole industry with this or at the very least get myself evicted on some subwoofer noise pollution case

So have you done a side by side test with your 2000xl to see if the 60 rocks that much harder?

They do sell replacement disk drives

I've tested a 2000xl, 3000, and SP1200 all beside a 60 and two of them left and two stayed

So yo, Something Like That, was there THAT much of a difference soundwise? I would think that it was more of a workflow thing (seeing as how I presume you got rid of the 2000xl and the 3000)?

For real, because some people act like the 60 is super dirty and punchy when it really isn't. Yeah it's warm but it doesn't get you THAT sound without EQ, compression, etc.

2000xl has too many folders and options for my taste. Sounds thin compared to the 3k and 60 but it was mainly a workflow move that prompted me to try a 60.

3k had too much sample time for my undisciplined mind. 60 works perfect w/the S950 and SP. But now That I have the SP, I wouldn't mind having that 3k back...but what's done is done. 60 works fine for me.

Yeah, I agree with the sample time issue. Having too damn much neither forces nor inspires you to be creative. Love that 26 second restriction.
