Slicing question

I have a sample I want to slice. The sample is about 2 bars but it begins early! It goes like this:

0-1-2-3-4-1-2-3
S K S K S K S K

The numbers on top are the beat and the letters below represent the major K=kick and S=snare pattern.

Now there is one more thing... this contains vocals that begin right at the beginning!!! That's why I can't really go by the beat (or can I?). I'm a bit confused on this one. I would like to get this sample perfectly looped and then adjust the tempo a bit and slice it up even more (if possible on each word).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

slice the snare off the front and paste it at the end.

elmacaco: I tried that but it didn't work out too well with the vocal sample! Again the sample starts on the snare because the vocal starts there. Maybe I'll try to go a another beat ahead! Thanks for the suggestion.

It is also possible that you do not know the right tempo for the sample or it may not be in 4/4 time!!!!

LaJProd: That is a good point. I didn't think about the timing. I'll go back and recount it to make sure. The sample really seems to fit in 4/4 timing but I'll double check it. As for the tempo I am pretty sure that I got that right as I basically played by whole loop and adjusted the tempo until it fit perfectly.

not trying to be a smart as$, but the the best tip i got is to just practice!
keep at it and you'll learn to slice stuff however you want

Just an idea but can you not just paste a kick at the start, then it would be ksksksks? then your vocal would start on the 2nd beat

Slice it into single hits and make your own damn beat! Use your imagination and your tools to their potential.

Thanks for the tips guys. I do plan to keep at this, but just wanted to cast my line to see if there were some tips that someone could provide.

I know many people are reluctant to give tips for what ever reason, but I always say "ask!" If you don't ask you may never find out! Plus I just the type of person to share what I know if it can help someone.

Since I have created this topic I have been working on this and though I am still not getting what I want I do beleive that I am making progress! Again, thanks to those who replied.
