MPC and Recycle: SCSI or MIDI?

I've been trying to import and export samples from my MPC 2000XL and Recycle (just purchased, so I'm still learning it). I have an internal SCSI card (in the PC) and SCSI cable hooked up to my MPC. When I chopped up a sample and tried to export it, nothing happened. I got a error message stating no external sampler was found and no midi connection. I thought you could send samples via SCSI with Recycle. So, basically what I'm asking is can you send samples via SCSI using Recycle or just midi? I got my MPC midi'ed out with my keyboard and my SP-1200. I'm just trying to avoid unhooking and re-routing everything. Any sugguestions? Thanks...

You cant send sample from recycle to the MPC

there is a way to do it, but you need mpc editor from http://www.mpc2000xl.com/software.htm

You can normally but the MPC is not in the Recycle Docs for supported samplers since it does not support SCSI sample dump.

Like dleted mentioned, MPC Editor can import the S5000 .akp file exported by Recycle into a program that is compatible with the generated midi file.

Besides, even if you could transfer trough scsi or midi, using floppies/zips is probably still faster. I know for sure midi is not worth the hassle, and scsi is impossible.

GOOD LOOKING OUT ...YOU'RE RIGHT, I DOWNLOADED MPC EDITOR AND IT WORKS PERFECT...BUT MY NEXT QUESTION IS THIS: I HAVE AN EXTERNAL ZIP DRIVE...CAN I SEND MY SAMPLES VIA SCSI TO THE ZIP AND SAVE 'EM ON A DISK AND LOAD 'EM INTO THE MPC FROM THERE? I'M AT WORK RIGHT NOW (WORKING HARD AS U CAN TELL ) AND WAS WONDERING. I'M GOING TO TEST EVERYTHING OUT LATER WHEN I GET HOME...THANKS AGAIN...PEACE
