what up...well im not here to try and switch people over BUT macs are more reliable, they dont freeze they dont get viruses and they are actually built FOR music audio video ETC. im not saying you cant use a PC its just that macs seem like they work better. most producers use macs in their studios. they are made better also. the thing i always here is that macs are made for media and PCs are made for business. i have been using a mac for like 6 years now. i will never go back to PC. only for work and that sucks lol. but in your case if you are doin ya thing witha PC you dont need to witch and then learn everything over ya know...thats up to you if you want.

i think the minimum you would want to use would be 1GHZ processor. 500MHZ might not handle the programs and the plug ins very well. for instance i use pro tools LE. i have used it on 3 macs. first an eMac G4, then my iBook G4 that i bought last dec. and now i just bought a used iMac G4 flat panel. 15 inch. its a 1GHZ, 80 GB hard drive and 512MB of ram and i got it for $600. i use it as my music machine. but its so awesome i want to use it as my main desktop LOL.

i know on apple.com you can get a refurb iMac G5 for like $900. check it out.

no prob...just remember this...they are not as hard as you (or many people) think to learn to use.
