How does the sample playback of the 1k compare to the 2kxl

I had a 2000xl for a minute but it got snatched out from under me. Looking to get another MPC but need to know about how the sample playback for the 1000. Definitely like the sound of the 2000xl. Does anyone know if the 2 units have the same sample engine?
