hey... my friend sent me some drum sounds.... he uses the 2000XL...

the 1000 recognizes the sounds in the load window, but won't play them...

how do I fix this so I can get it poppin?

yeah, resave them in the XL as WAV.

or use AWAVE to convert them.

What you need to get "poppin" in the pages of your manual.
I aint trying to dis or anything like that but you would have known the basic capabilites of your machine if you had went through it and pushed buttons at the same time. You know to actually DO what you are READING.

and it told me that an MPC1000 will not read a .snd

now.... maaaybe there was a part about converting a sound on the machine, but i did not see aything of the sort

Yeah, your friend will have to save them as WAV on the XL, THEN you can load them into your 1000, cool?

i told him to do dat in the first place, but he obviously attempted the easy quick fix option...oh well...

Usually, but not 100% of the time, if you DON'T see it in the book the machine can't do it.
