I'm getting rid of my 1k for a 2k xl

i sold a beat in exchange for a mpc 2000 xl.

and i'm selling the 1k on ebay for $800

the reason i'm keeping the xl is because i've been having problems with
the buttons and pads, they're slowly messing up. the f6 button
(the do it button) i have to press hard. but other than that is tip top. yet i dont want to risk it getting worse...

after receiving the mpc xl today, i concluded that keeping the xl, plus 800 beans in the pocket, aint a bad idea. i love the 1000 and portability, unfortunately the 1k's built is weak, we all know the xl is more rugged build.

i felt like letting yall know how i felt, i've been in this forum for a minute and i hope i've made a good decision...

 :? :) 8)

I'm selling my MPC 1000. I love it and have had a lot of fun with it, but it's time for a 2500!

But i heard that the 2500 don't even have the simple and easy to use 'Shift Timing' function. its now like the 1k, you have to go to seq edit.

This sucks.

If this simple named feature is important to users, i seggest you stick with your 1k and 2kxl's. Unless you need the other features of the 2500, fair enuff.

i dont understand this, you totally can do the same exact thing as shift timing. it's not even difficult to do, why say that if you dont know youre talking about

good luck selling.....i always laugh at these guys that chase technology..dumping their 1 yr old stuff- losing $ to get the latest newest thing... only to do the same thing in another year...
I mean to each his own but sometimes it seems more a competition for gear then an actual tool which helps you create...I went thru it long ago with workstations and its just not worth the learning curves and NEW headaches ..i mean do you buy a new laptop every year? maybe some do...i think some of you get my point...

i admit the 2500 looks sweet but for me it has all the processing i need and features i need....sure delay and 2 effects would be cool but is it worth the 2x the price? no way.....when the 1k gets the new os and hd option then some will rethink their doubt...maybe

IMO, you'd be better off buying an MPC 60, an S950 and a rack sound module for the same money you'll probably end up dropping on the MPC 2500.

If the 1K gets a significant OS upgrade sometime soon, there are going to be a few hasty cats hanging around with Captain Regret.
