why isn't it possible to set attack and pitch (or anything else ) at the same time in the step edit?
e.g: I record a melody with 16levels and then I wanna set different filter settings for every single note. but when I turn to filter and change it in the step edit it doesn't play the edited note at the recorded pitch! I can only change one of the param. (attack, filter, release, pitch;) and the others aren't recognised.

You can only have one type of note variation per sample.

As in...you can change the filtor for lets say a bass sound, but if you deside to change the decay, you will loose the filtor variation you step sequened for that pattern.

Its a stuid idea for Akai to make it that way.

It was really an early result of an attempt to completely conform to the midi format spec. They only figured out one place to put that NV message inside of a standard midi file where it would not break it if loaded on a non-Akai machine. (I think it is note 0 release velocity).
