Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I transferred my mpc files from floppies to smart media and seperated them into folders. If the first sound cant be read it defaults to the sounds that arent saved in a folder. Those play fine but the ones in the folder wont load correctly or play.

Any ideas?

When you make a song, you need to have the PGM, all samples, SEQ, ALL, APS all in the same folder. 2kxl cannot read through folders.

You'll have to use one folder for one song and all it's files.

If you have some of the samples in that folder with the pgm, your mpc will see the samples and load them, if other samples from that same pgm are in another folder, your mpc cannot see/load them.

The same drum kits cant be used in seperate folders ?
Smart media holds so much but , you cant repeat drum sounds in folders?
How do you make sure the right sound is loaded for a certain sequence?
Keep a sound log on paper?

Thanks for your earlier response.

If u dont mind having repeat sounds on you media card, Make a new folder per track
I.E

You made a beat call 'Pride'...What you can do is make a folder called 'pride'. Within this folder you save the SEQ and the APS/PGM. This way, when u want to reload it, u can just go to the folder called 'Pride' and fire up the track with ease...No searching for XYZ sound - It will all be in there.

OR

You can keep all your sounds/wav, APS and PGMs in one folder and make a new folder per track which u save the SEQ data too. Remember to name the APS the same as the track tho

Ie

Pride.APS....From there, u go to the folder named Pride and load the SEQ data....This way u avoid repeat data spread across the card
