For Me...

Chopping on the 2000XL sucks. I am coming from the 1000 which didn't have zoning, but it was pretty straight forward about chopping and extracting pieces. The 2000XL is very complicated, so hard to listen to what parts you have highlighted with the exception of in the zoning screen and very hard to listen to what you want to loop. There may be some secrets, but by following the manual on pg. 98...there is no option to play whatevers in the highlighted area. If anyone has any secrets please let a brother know...I have done a bunch of searches but the only thing they have helped me with is zoning/slicing the sounds to a new program of pads. (Which I also knew from reading the manual.) Thanks.

im sure theres an option on the zoning screen that says 'play all', 'play to' etc

The zoning screen is the only one where you can actually hear what is selcted...you can:
Play Zone-Which plays what's selected in the Zone screen
Play All- Which plays the entire sample no matter what
Play before St (Start)- Which plays everything before what's selected in the Zone screen
Play before to- Which plays everything that is before what you highlight in the Loop screen
Play after end- Which plays everything after what is selcted in the end point.

No tell me why it's so backwards ass? How can I tell if I want to set something as a loop if I cant hear how it sounds looping? Why do I have to listen to what I am trying to cut out, rather than listening to what I want to keep? I mean it seems a little crazy that I have to go to the Zone screen, mess with the highlighting stuff there, listen to how I like it, than write down my numbers, go to the trim screen, and put them in there, than go to the loop screen and put them in there.
I really hope someone on here starts yelling at me and talkin $hit, cause I would really love to know the way to do this right...there's gotta be something I'm missing.
