Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
Bynamit1 Wed Nov 26, 2003 10:34 pm
I bought an mpc2000xl and it didnt come with anything. It only has a floppy drive also. What items should I buy to actually put it to use? Can I add a cd-rom or zip drive drive to the back because I dont want to open it?
Please give me a list of thing I will need. Thanks.

I guess it came with a manual and a power chord no? Well following method should be pretty foolproof : plug in the power chord plug in headphones open the manual and start reading. This is by no means a diss or whatsoever but to begin with you really don't need much more than this, you will eventually want to get more memory (if you only have 2 Mb) and a zipdrive (Yes you can connect a scsi zipdrive and or a scsi cdrom to the MPC). But to start with you can save your stuff on a floppy if you have the basic model. But please do read the manual it is the only way to learn to use your machine thoroughly. sucess!

And adding on to that at the back of your manual it gives a description and and sketching of how to set up zip and hard drives via the scsi connector. Trust that reading the manual is a good thing to do. You'd be suprised at how much clearer things will appear. As for those somewhat confusing portions of the manual fellow heads will be more understanding and quicker to respond to your post.
