Roland TD-20 (Vdrums) with MPC 1000 as sequencer

What is the best way of hooking the MPC 1000 to the Roland Vdrum's TD-20 brain for the purpose of bypassing the Vdrum's sequencer section ... it sux. I want to record the MIDI data from the TD-20 and replay it using the MPC 1000 as the sequencer and the TD-20 as the sound chest.

use the midi out on the 1000 to your roland's in

on the 1000 you have to set the track to 1a for example so it sends the midi data to the roland

Sorry to interject but could you do the same thing with the Roland SPD-S? Like, if I wanted to use the SPD-S to physicaly play the ideas out into the MPC?

I thought I would need two MIDI cables connecting ins and outs from both units. I am also confused about local control.

Yea, have the vDrums midi out to Mpc midi in, and mpc midi out to vDrums midi in, but be careful to avoid getting a midi feedback loop, by using a midi channel out on the vDrums that wont be recieving from the mpc. confusing, but some trial and error should sort it out.
use the midi page to figure out the channels for in and out.
