Are you using an 8 out card? Digital? Does your mixer accept digital signals? Balanced signals? Is it powered by a freaking hampster?

Mogami is very good and allot of studios use this through out their facilities. They can be expensive but effective. I replaced my older cable with Mogami cable and noticed a big improvement, but cable can be like buying a pair of shoes, everyone will have their own preference. The truth about cable is that ALL cable is pretty bad for sound LOL but what you are looking for is the one cable that will not mess with your sound as much as the next cable. Sticking with better names like, Monster cable, which is low-end cable to Mogami, which is higher end cable, will insure that you get the best sound possible out of your equipment. Hosa cable is consider very generic type of cable, but will get the job done.

When I mention that all cables are pretty bad here is an analogy that I read and pretty much sums up what cable does to sound. Cable is like a window pain. Some cable companies will tint the window with color or keep the window dirty, this make it hard for you to see though the window(cable). Good companies will have the window as clean as possible and you would be pretty impressed how clean it is but you can always tell that there is a window there but you can see clearly through the window.

I would not recommend spending too much money on cables, because as long as you stick with reputable cable names they are all pretty good. However, stay away from cheap generics, they will work but hurt the sound performance of your equipment interconnection.

Good Luck!

Make your own, everything else is a waste of money. I use Canare cable and Neutrik connectors.
