you need to change the ID on the drive to something other than 6 because that is the MPC's ID. Any other setting but 6 should work.

how many scsi devices do u have plugged into the mpc? (via daisy chain?)

anyway the same number that the MPC is set too, should also be the same number that the Zip Drive is on.

Well, its the first time i try to connect a scsi device to mpc.. Its a quantum HD. I used to load samples using the floppy disk (what a tedious process!! geez) and i bought a Hd...and now this  as i mention before, i also tried to update O.S but i only found files with a bin extension and i don.t know how to convert them in .exe or .sys so the mpc can read them. What a shame i have to say i´m workin with 1.07 O.S which is " a bit" dated. Do u guys think updating my O.S can be a way to try fix this problem? if that problem is part of a bug ..well may be it works . The question is "is that a bug or am i doing something wrong?

Hello again  i fixed the problem .This link helped me http://www.alyon.org/InfosTechniques/in ... 34300.html

It was a kind of jumper settings problem. The configuration was set for id 6 (same as mpc) so there was the conflict. i switch off jumper in A1 and voilá..now its id 2.
Thanks everyone for the help

You load the OS (I use v1.14) BIN file the same as you load a sample.

Hi there :) .I forgot to mention i did that to and voilá ..its updated to 1.14. I read some topics here and i´m a bit confused about OS 1.20. I dont have a card storage and i saw some people with crashes and freeze problems when tried to update to 1.20.Perhaps i dont need to do that. Its true that 1.14 is more stable or what we got here is a kind of subjective way of thinking?

1.20 is for cards above 1gb.

You don't have a card reader, or any cards above 1gb then u don't need it.

MPC3k and Penfold if I remember correctly posted up info about this a while back.

But stay with 1.14 and save yourself headaches.

FYI, I have a cf reader in my 2kxl and have a 512mb LEXAR card, I'm runnin 1.14 and have no problems.
