i like the 1000 but the whole point is i feel like akai just put it out to make a quick buck becuz thier dropping the new 2500 which has extra features and the 1000 has barely been out and they barely updated it. I should have waited and got the 2500 a year later. i'm glad i got the 1000 because i have learned alot on it but they don't even update it and now they come out with the new one that has all the 1000 features plus more and a better color. And the 1000 is now being put out in black while i'm stuck with the homo colors. I know the colors don't matter but it gives you a certain vibe when you got a sleeker looking machine.

for me, I would've got the 2000xl but i liked the computer friendly features the 1000 had. I didn't like the color and like the 2000xl because of the shift timing, time stretch, auto chromatic, larger pads, gray color. But the 1000 has the bigger memory and built in effects and compact flash usb(i got it right b4 the new 2000xl came out).

but the 1000 was barely out for a year and they drop this new 2500 with all the features of the 1000, 2000xl, and more AND it looks good. AND to top it off they drop the 1000 in the new black color just to piss me off. AND no 1000 OS update.

Are you new to music and electronics? This is called PROGRESS.

Get over it already and sell the 1000 on eBay. Then buy the black 1000 or the 2500. The longer you wait, the less you will get for your 1000.

maybe you could buy a new black case for it from Akai and sell it for a little more (if this is possible)?

good thing they dropped that goofy blue colr scheme. but yeah, i'd be pretty pissed as well about the colors. what's childish is complaining about them releasing the 2500. some people who bought the 1000 don't have a need for many of the options on the 2500 or don't want something that big. also, there's no saying that they've discontinued development of the 1000 OS. there must be a new one coming up if they're releasing an internal HD for it. all i really need from an MPC anymore is the sequencer. i like the size of the 1000 and actually want one now that they'll be released in black. always hated that blue/red design.

Sh!t happens man..i think your pissed because its all about the image of having the next big thing and you cant afford it. Cats put so much emphasis on what Gear looks like or showing off that they have the newest piece out instead of just doing the best w/ what they have. Some folks are stupid that are jumping ship from a 1k to 2500 because in some of their minds they think thats gonna make them a better beatmaker..but it wont.

Just buy a used 2000xl with your 1000 and get to work

Notice that it was two years ago that the mpc1000 came out. How can you **** that it "just came out"? Also how can say it just came out and then **** about how they don't update it? If it just came out, would'nt 7 versions of OS updates be pretty good? For the love of all things mpc, dump your 1000 and go buy Roland or Korg.
