EXPERIENCED DJS HELP! IS THIS A GOOD SETUP!?!?

What up guys.

I just bought 2 Pioneer CDJ 1000 MKII's and a VESTAX PMC-05 PRO III Mixer. Is that a good combination? Is it a good setup? I will be playing mostly hip-hop. Someone please let me know...Thanks

It doesn't matter what music you will be playing, as long as the equipment feels right. Most of the CD turntables on the market have the same features so it's mainly about feel. Those Pioneers you bought have a lot of great features, but does that jog wheel feel right to you. My favourite is the Numark CDX because it has the best feel.

This Gemini CDT 05 is a good investment for any studio because it plays CD's and vinyl. It also lets you manipulate your CD's using the platter.

For hiphop, I'd have gone with Technics SL1200mkII in stead of CDJ1000mkII... But maybe I'm just old-fashioned.

it's all up to you do you want to spin on vinyl or cd,

there not much to tell you but it's up to what you perfer.

i'm a vinyl head and been spining on turntables for 26+ years i've used a cd deck but it was not for me so like i said it all depends on your taste,and what you like.

all in all the equipment is great quality !!!!

This hasn't even been released yet so it's hard to say if it'll be a good investment. The idea is good but it is a Gemini product and they are not known for quality. I can already see a few problems with it- the screen looks really small and when it's set up battle-style you won't be able to swap cd's because the slot will be blocked by the mixer.

yeah, I rock the same mixer and a cdj800 w/ my tech 1200's. Good gear.

I also run a pioneer efx500 with that handy send/return feature on your mixer. Relatively simple effects but has a tap BPM button.

The vestax 05pro is a rugged scratch mixer , If you wont to develop skills those pioneers wont do. better of with vinyl , the numark cdrx are supposedly the closest cd decks to replicate a vinyl turntable.

Hmmm..is there anyway to hook up 3 turntables to 1 mixer? meaning like 2 cdj's and a turntable for scratching...

if it has the inputs for it.. some have 2 channels (battle style) some have 3, some have more

usually if its 2 channels theres a switch from line to phono(at least with my experience), depending on where that switch is, it can be easy (if its on the main face of the unit), if its on the back of the unit its a ****, never want to go near ground switches and the like when your live, trust me, in the mix of things you could accidently knock something the wrong way, and here some noise, and people look at you like your evil,

messing up when your djing is like a bad dream, honestly, every person looks at you at once, to which you can either play it off, or get pissed (only times that has happened to me is if shit just starts skipping, or when some dude spilled beer on my amp, thus shorting out everything...

well i got the vestax pmc 05 pro III...and it has the phono/line switch right on the main board..nice and easy to get too..But my question is it a practical thing to have 2 cdj's and 1 turntable? Or am i better off sticking to just 2 cdj's or 2 turntables?..also will i be able to perferom all scratching tricks with just 1 turntable? or will i need 2?
