12 bit re-sampling

anybody here have a specific setting they always use when re-sampling with the XL? I usually resample loops and drums at 35kHz/12 bit. This setting is nice for a little bit of distortion. Feel free to add

nice tip,,, but i think the bit converter kidna suks l-p

I use software for that, PC processor vs MPC, ....................

I've bought some 12 bit racksamplers. I used to do it on the mpc, but i got tired of waiting for it to resample. It takes ages for a 4 bar loop.
Now I sample everything at 50kHz 12 bits.

plain samples (piano, bass, ...) ---> 22050Hz 16bit (i use this to conserve memory)
drums ---> 22050Hz 12bit (sometimes 8bit) to add some dirt and punch

22050Hz is handy because you will still have an entire octave to pitch down, and samplesize is half wich is handy to calculate the space i still have on my floppy

a little tip: your samples become a bit darker in the high end so to push the high end up i put my filter on 100 and res between 5and10.

anybody try using adobe audition to do any of this?

i like to keep the comp out of my setup. if you dont push it, the resample wont take that long. the most of my samples are max 500kb so it doesnt take hours.
