it is meant to complement the CF card but not replace anything. as i mentioned, lets say you have the hard drive installed. when you have your computer connect to the mpc via the usb and you have a CF card in the mpc, the computer will see the CF card first. it will not see the hard drive with the CF card in the mpc. if you do not have the CF card in the mpc and the computer is connected to the computer, the computer will see the hard drive.
From what i understand, right now with the current OS, and the hard drive, you will not be able to stream anything from the hard drive. you will be able to audition from the hard drive as you can currently with the CF card. i am
NOT saying this to say with the new OS you will be able to stream..... the fact of the matter is I don't know what all the new features of the new OS will have (yet).
also from what i understand, we will still need the 128mb of ram because that's where all the work of the mpc will still take place just like now.
if anything changes b4 the new OS drops, you know i will let you all know.
