I used to come to this site to learn stuff about my mpc, now all I hear is bitching. Shut up and make beats, then you can get rich and buy all 4 mpcs.

You might not believe this but whenever you buy a car next year there is a new model to replace it! That doesn't stop people from buying them.

the new 1k os is coming out very soon. that's not speculation, it's a fact. regarding the black case, just wait, that should become available to buy the shell to replace the red and blue soon also. there are so many things about to happen for the 1k. just because the 2.5k is out, that doesn't mean akai will abandon the 1k.

all this going back and forth is so immature. on both sides of the argument, instead of doing this, just make beats and try to sell them so you have your gear pay for its self then if you see new gear coming out just buy it.

i personally have the 1k and will also buy the 2.5k to go along with my 1k. redundant? i don't think so. where the 2.5k will be my stable setup, the 1k will be my portable setup. they are totally compatible.

Yo I aint even had my 1k that long, and i'm like amazed at what it can do. If you got a pc that's loaded with what its supposed to do to work with your 1k, there's not a whole lot you CANT do (now I cant speak on behalf of other units, i'm talking 'bout what i think is good in my own setup)

What does it really matter anyway that the 2500 came out? Sure it's got twice the feat. of the 1k...it's also twice the price. There will still be a strong market for the 1k cause the 25k is outta the price range that a lot of people are willing to pay for gear.

Just wait a lil while until 2500 fever runs out in a few months then you should have better luck unloading the 1k for a reasonable price once people come to their senses.

...you should save your money for the model that follows the 2.5K. If you decide to rush into purchasing, ring samaritans with your whingeing rather than boring us when the 3500XL us released in 18 months.

Just to give you an idea of how decent MPCs thend to hold their value: I dropped SEK 8400 the day the 1K dropped. Fully expanded RAM, box, manual, 32MB card.

Sold it last week for SEK 7500.

Gettin the MPC 2500. I'm so happy. Just like when I got rid of my fully expanded 2Kxl to cop the Ik.

I work in advertising so I'm pretty good with putting two words together to have people excited about buying my shit. Other than that, there's a whole group of people out there itching to get their hands on some hardware and move away from software. Get some ads out there, throw some shit in like 1 week of personal telephone support, a 1 hr crash course in Kanye West-ism and a crate of records. I bet you I could sell yours for more than you paid in the first place. Damn I'm good.

Hey you guys should hang on to your "classic" 1ks, the red sides sound so much warmer than the new black ones, it's kind of grittier and has more punch.

someone wants to buy a 1k in the for sale section for $700

not bad. esp if you got it new for 900, $200 worth of beats should be easy to get out of a couple months of use.

btw the crappy things about the 1k are the things I knew right away----feels cheap, not many sync options, pads are closer together than other MPC's. IMO it is a capable machine (if you don't count the filters) so maybe just keep it if u can't sell....
