i know this is kinda off topic, but i have some questions about the 404, which i just got:

im trying to figure out if its possible to take a pattern/sequence that i just created and resample it into the machine as a single sample, so i can put effects on it and have the liberties to do to it what i can do with any other samples. does anyone know if its possible to do this?

theoretically, i don't see why you couldn't. if you resample a seq on the mpc and save the sample, the sample is now a wav file. if the 303/404 can import wav files then yes you can bring it into the roland and add whatever effects you want. just keep in mind that if you want to bring it back to the mpc from the roland, it will just be a sample, not a seq.

i wasnt talking about the mpc, i meant solely on the 404. im just trying to take a pattern i created on the 404 and turn it into a sample instead of a pattern. is this possible?

nah. i got the sp 505 and you could only resample the single samples. and those are built on the strength of 505 just smaller.

yep no way!...i wish there was cause it would rock! You have to resample into another machine and then back into sp404...sux cause otherwise you could make some crazy stuff up

yeah...my boy has a cheap 2-track recorder and he records his stuff into that, then plays it back and samples the drums and the loop together on one pad...that's the only way i know how to do it
