I got one through a different channel. There was too much drama going on here so I avoided Jahrome. Where is his review by the way? One guy sent me a PM saying he can get a 2500 for me. I never heard from him again. No reason to trust sellers with these conditions.

But you have a point. I too have been wondering why no one is buying. I guess they want to wait until the 2500 are stateside. In a way I can't blame them. I want the CD-M25 option now, not later!

I want to hear some beats! Enough pics and raves. The 4000 is more powerfull, but I have yet to hear a track from that machine that makes me want to upgrade. So lets get the real dealness from you 2500 owners! Lets hear some beats!

The 2500 is not going to improve peoples tracks anymore than the MPC 4000. You will get what you put into it.

yeah, but it really improves the studio pics of the cats on this website.

I can't understand why people are selling their MPC's for another one, and they can berely use the MPC they already got! If you just want the 2500/4000 just to own it, then I can understand, but to any real producer that just wants to make music, I don't think the jump is neccessary. Don't get me wrong, I think the machines are amazing, but I want to make some money off my tracks before I spend another red cent on another piece of equipment. I really would like to hear some of the additional features the 2500/4000 have. I haven't heard a beat from the 4000/2500/3000 (on this board) that couldn't be done on a casio keyboard, but owners of these machines like to brag and boast about how their MPC is better, and the 2000's are cheap and built like toys. Folks talk about how akai sucks from not supporting this, and not fixing that, but when it is fixed, are the owners taking advantage of the technology? The filters?, the effects?, faster processor? Resampling? Q-link?? When I got my SP-202 you could hear the difference in my beats. I was able to do thigs that I couldn't do with my MPC by itself. The 202 cost me $45.00. So when I see folks spending two to three G's on a better mpc, I expect (at least) the same reults. Why buy the latest and greatest and not improve?
I guess, my question is, if you sell your mpc for another one, what is the reason? Because if the beats don't improve in some kind of way, there really isn't a reason.. is there? Because if I had the 2500/4000, I guarentee you would hear EVERY additional function that these machines have.

just because they don't post their work on the net then that don't mean that they don't know how to use their equipment.. But i get what your saying.

But on the other hand, they aren't spending your money or taking food out of your mouth by buying gear from somebody else or getting rid of their old gear.. so i don't see a problem..

Is the jump from an older MPC to the MPC 2500 necessary?? I would say no any day of the week. But if you are an MPC user and you want the extra features that the MPC 2500 has, you will not be disappointed. But if you were making weak tracks with the 2000XL, you will most likely make weak tracks with the 2500 unless you step your game up.

I said it before...I loved my MPC 3000. But I always wanted an improved 3000 with all the features of the XL. Now I have that and more in the 2500. Its not just a nice tool to create music with...its fun too use. Honestly, the effects can be improved. Akai should have left an open slot for an effects board for 3rd party developers..such as UAD, TC Electronics...I would really be impressed.

For the catz that have the 2500 already...have you opened the bottom panel which holds the memory? What do you think that white interface is for? Looks like an expansion slot of some kind...

I do have the MPC 2500..actually I have several. I have not finished the review but I have been answering questions as they come in the Q&A thread. If you have any questions..shoot away. Now there will be others that can help as well.

I have never been the type to post a bunch of pictures on the internet but I could.

Its features are more automated and accesible, so in turn the idiots will use functions they have never accessed before, which will up thier game a tad and improve thier beat.
