REASON & MPC TUTORIAL VIDEO!

just to add on to what penfold said about reason. reason can't host vst's, reason can't record vocals, you can't sample directly into (stream) reason

you can compose your entire track in reason, you can (with v3.0) master in reason (only the song you composed in reason), you can import samples into reason and play/record them back. you can import/export midi notes into reason and as penfold's guide suggests, you can use reason as a sound mod to external gear. you would be suprised at how many songs on the radio are done in reason.

mantis, i have the lexicon. damn good piece of equipment. but it only records 4 inputs simutaneously.

How come i can only get sound out of the first 2 Inputs!? do i need the mixer to take the first two channels or something!?

I have a question....I work with Reason right now as well as an E-MU X Board for my midi control. However, I hate the drum sounds and do not like pointing and clicking to program my drums. Because I love the feel of pounding on pads I am purchasing an MPC1000. The Question I have is can I intergrate the synth & instrument sounds of Reason with the live sound of my MPC drums? If so, how would I go about doing this?

why not use a controller is program your drums instead of a mouse?

The tutorial is designed for exactly what you have asked, however it assumes you understand simple things like how to wire up your MPC1000 to do just that!, obvuously you can have your drum tracks playing along with your midi tracks....think about it!!

great post! i just purchased reason, and i plan on using it with my MPC1000. my one question is this...

how many midi ins/outs will i need on my computer? i dont have a midi interface, and I was thinking about the m-audio "uno"....but i was wondering if that'd be enough? it's one in and one out.

i imagine i'd just have to have the midi going from my controller to the MPC...and from the MPC to reason? is this correct? thanks a lot
