Im 16 years old

iight am 16 years old all I got is a mpc 1k a turntable and a bunch a bootleg connections and I been tryin to improve for like a few months I learned myself someshit still tryin to figure samplin and all but thats a diffrent story

I jus wanted to ask wha was some a ya suggestions on piece of equipment or software I could start usin jus to help add more of a profession sound to my beats and also help my samplin

You got plenty time to become a pro dog, dont be in a hurry and confuse yourself out the gate thats what im learning, I second Mantis Beats, get Propellerhead Reason 2.5 or 3.0 would be better I think that comes with ReCycle built in otherwise you have to buy it seperate, it fits any loop to any beat then you good to go. 100

learn to use what you have first. it is not the equiment but the individual. if you went to electric lady studios in nyc "your" beats would not be any better because (again) it is not the equiment.

you should just master the mpc ie sequencer, samplering and it options. if you learn to make nice beats on the mpc when you do get more equiment you will have that pro sound that you are looking for.

save your money and get to work.

why does everyone think if you throw money at making beats you will make better beats?

MPC1k, turntable and maybe a mixer.

Learn that first and get the hang of that. Other stuff will confuse the purpose right now. And don't listen to everyone telling you to get this and that. Once you figure out what the mpc can do for you, you'll find that nothing is really NEEDED is just extra.

Yes eat ,sleep and drink with your mpc! Get to know it well.

first of all, welcome to the forum
second, mwalker and lampdog are 110% right, learn what you have for the moment and as your abilities grow you can start thinking of new gear.

the pro sound is not possible with a plugin or a piece of hardware, its mainly expieriance. there are guys out there that can make hot beats with just an MPC and a 4track, its all about knowlege. focus on what you have, time will tell you what you can add (or lose) to get better results.

as far as the sampling goes, use search on this site and google, and experiment...

help me with one more thing how do you take the words out of a sample usin sound forge or cool edit if possiable thanks

you cant solo out a voice by filtering. one thing u can try is to split the stereofile in 2 monofiles (L and R), because sometimes and instrument will be panned verry hard to the Left or Right but most of the time, a voice is +/-center...

Ok Doogie Howser! Here is my input. Reason for all the sounds of today, Recycle for additional tricks and Wavlab. Just stick to these forums and you will find the answers to most any question you may have. If you have the connects. then make them work to your advantage and utilize your time wisely. A little bit of reading and a little production. Also get your diploma.

you cant seperate a voice from a melody, for you thiking that, i think you should stop making beats

The most you could do is to filter and eq the phrase so that you have it more dominant in the mix. With the right settings you can clear out certain frequencies so the sample could better fit into your mix. Trail and error. Now get to work!

i agree with just about everyone here when saying learn what you have.

Recycle and Reason are two totally different programs. they work together but they do not come together. each one is a separate cost.
