Im a straight newbie had my MPC 2000XL for about 4 weeks. The only things I have down are loading sounds to the MPC. I can put the sounds on the pads and record drum performances on the pad as well but it aint all that great sounding. . . Big Deal. Huh? I just started learning how to sample and can sample sounds of my Techs.

Questions I got:

1. How to Edit sounds I sampled
2. How do I save my performance that I did.
3. How to create a whole beat??? Do I use "Song" to make the whole beat? If so how do I go about it??

Last Q

How do I convert a sample to 12 bit????

I've been reading the Manual but it doesn't get into detail.
I've been Dj'ing for a while and decided to take this step. I accept all help and criticism. Much Luv.

You'll be fine just don't give up, take your time with it and you'll see month after month you'll get better and better.

Questions I got:
1. How to Edit sounds I sampled "It's in the book"
2. How do I save my performance that I did. "It's in the book"
3. How to create a whole beat??? Do I use "Song" to make the whole beat?
3. Chain your seq's together in song mode in order to make a song.

You didn't read the book, c'mon dude. Give us some real questions.
Djxpert650 wrote:I've been reading the Manual but it doesn't get into detail.
Yes it does, you just weren't pushing the buttons as you read. It tells you EXACTLY how to do the things you just asked.

Mantis just gave you something that you claimed you already read, HUH. :?

Practice and read, read and practice, experiment and read, read and experiment. Read, experiment and practice.

Im a fiend on the MPC. Im lovin it for sure.

I need help saving my performances. I have 2 sequences both 2 bars each and I keep on trying to save them and it's just not working.

I've tryed everything!
1. Save All Sequences and Songs
2. Saving a Sequence
3. Save All Programs and Sounds. With .Wav,with Sounds, and APS Only
4. Save a program and sounds. With .Wav,with Sounds, and APS Only

What do I do?? It's really frustrating not being able to save my work.
I've been reading the MPC 2000XL manual. Pg.156 "Saving the Data" and still no luck.

I try to save and it says "File Directory Full"
I need help bad. Can someone give me an easy explanation of how to save? I've been reading the manual and I'm still confused.

What are you trying to save to? Floppy, Zip, CF, HD what?

IF floppy your samples might be too big for the floppy.

I use a 512mb CF (doesn't matter though cause they all save/load the same way).

I make a folder, and I save a song and all that songs files in the same folder, ALL, APS, PGM, and all the samples. That's how ALOT of people keep songs organized.
