Replacing 3000 and 60II LCD Screen

I have both a 3000 and 60II and both of the screens are very dim, First is it easy to remove the whole screen ( The tilting case) and possibly send it in or would I have to send in the whole unit? And secondly the 60II screen.... is it hard to replace and gst to or should I just keep using my 8.00 Target lamp above my MPC's?

It's really not that bad. The 3000 is a little tricky and the 60 is easy. The 3000 just nees to be taken apart more to get the display housing removed and the LCD out.

Does this require soldering and if so how small of a soldering joint as I totally suck with a soldering iron.... Can I remove the entire display hinge from the 3000 and possibly send it to telesis?

Only 2 wires that you have to solder. I think with telesis you send the whole display. The whole display assembly on the 3000 comes off so you could just send it without having to remove the actual LCD. Since you have to take it apart I would go ahead and do the repair your self. Since you know what a soldering iron is you can probably do the soldering. It does not have to be great and the leads on the backlight are big. All you have to be careful of is not shorting out the two wires. I think those backlights run about $36 each.

Do I just heat the existing wire connections and remove the backlight and reheat the contacts back into place? Or will I have to use some tin to put them back?

The entire 60 II display can come out as well if you want to send it to Telesis. You will need to solder to put the backlight back in but it is rather easy.

Yeah pretty much. I would add a little solder to the new backlight (tin the leads) so it is easy to solder to the pcb. Also make sure you clean the solder joints after you are done.
