How do u organise ur drum sounds?

how du u set it up on the pads?

do u have one drumprogram with just one type off sound? like snare or kick or do u have em all in one program?

I do them in rows. Kicks on the bottom, hats on the second row, snares on the third, and everything else goes on the top. Don't put your sounds all in seperate programs. It just isn't pratical when you are trying to make drum patterns.

I organize them based on the order of the break I choped them from so I have I can always review thier original context. This also helps you to keep from making similar patterns because changes the placement of drum type on the pads because of the order of the original break. Gives you more even wear on your pads too. All in one program. Sometimes in different tracks if I want to be able to mute the highats for example. Its all in the function of it more than the placement because keeping a layout style is nice for patching but poor for your creativity in my perspective.

When I used to sequence all my drum sounds at once I would set up my drums like this:

PAD 1 - Kick

PAD 2 - Snare

PAD 3 - Hi-Hat

PAD 4 - Closed Hi-Hat

Now, I sequence all my sounds seperately and on seperate tracks.

i have no specific layout , but i tend to keep kicks and snares close to eachother so i can reach them with a thumb and a finger

Second Row 4 Kicks

3rd Row Various Percussion

Top Row 4 Snares

Used to use rows but now use columns. L to R: Kicks, hats, snares & perc.
