without thinkin about the money is it really worth gettin mpc4000 over an mpc1000. ive been doin my music all software based (g4,logicpro 7, reason, korg legacy)and have decided to go for an mpc (as every1 aways talks about its ease and how fun they are). also i want to try to do more sampling and 'remixes' easier, and better sound. i dont want an mpc just for the drums but to sequence vocals, synths etc and then put in on a mac to record and add other effects from other mac programs.

i can get an mpc 4000 for £900 is that good?
what are the advantages i will get with mpc4000?

i dont wana get an mpc1000 and then wished i should have
got a mpc4000. but depends if il ever use the benefits of the
mpc4000.

Look, the 4K is called a "4000" for a reason. It is, at least at this point, the highest quality sampling and sequencing MPC available. I was in a similar boat that you were and found that the 4K, although expensive, was the better choice. The elements I found compelling was the High sample quality that the others don't have. the built in CDr, Harddrive, large screen, Aksys, and larger, better build. Its the "flagship" model for a reason. don't forget that. In my opinion, the other models are like toys compared tot the 4K (all due respect to other MPC owners) but, you pay for it. the 4K is a beast and it is very very complicated and requires a large amount of time to figure it out. Be prepared. The more functionality = more problems and headaches = more possibilities......dig?

If I was in your position I would be thinking about getting the 2500.

Personally, I'm keeping my 2KXL 'till Akai release the 4000's successor. :D
