Rite now i have a mpc 2000 studio plus with the mfc 42 analog filter rite above it. i purchased all this about 7 yrs ago for around 2800 or so before the price drops and the xl even came out.

My main question is should i sell everything i have an get a 4000. I like the way it looks and all the specs but all these bugs and problems i keep reading are making me think twice about selling wha i got and getin the 4000.

Please help with some advice before i make a good purchase or big loss. :?:

I own the MPC4000 and the MPC2000XL SP with the MFC42. Hold on to your MPC2000XL if you can. The filters on these machines are different from each other. You might miss what you have now. Add the MPC4000 after AKAI releases the new blue color model.

The user interface on the MPC4000 is much easier to use than the MPC2000XL. The large display and easier access to parameters makes quite a difference. For that reason you will really like it. The bugs are annoying but tolerable. I doubt that they will be eliminated by a software upgrade. You'll have to wait for the MPC5000.

There is no MPC5000. I meant that you will have to wait AKAI discontinues the MPC4000 and releases a new model (probably named the MPC5000) to get rid of the bugs in their best model.

i still dont no what to do but i might jus sell my 2000 now and get a little money for it cuz i no i wont get much cuz the xl has more features and is basically better. Soon i prolly get nothing for the 2000 like 200 bucks
so im defently getn rid of my 2000

I sold my Triton Rack (overated)
and my 2000xl.

I would do it again in a heart beat.

You might want to read thru some of the posts on this website in regards to the bugs.

I sold my 2000xl se to get a 4000. I have to say best thing I ever did for my studio. Just for the extra 2 midi ports to control up to 4 other midi devices its worth it. Plus Aka.sys. Some people talk ablout bugs, but for me there are none. Def get the 4000.
