What Hard Drive

Gona be investin in a 2kxl iv heard a lot of noise about different hard drives, can nothing about MPCs be easy and straight forward!
Im changing from using Reason to using an MPC, i make hiphop tracks
Which hard drive is best form the 2kxl?
Which will it come with?

im buying it from a 'round the way type place' for £720 and dont no if they realy no what theyre selling, its just sitting there on the shelf
will i need a different hard drive when i buy it?

Any external SCSI hard drive will do. I'm not sure, but I believe large capacities (over 9 Gb) are of any use as the empee can't address all that memory (FAT formatting).

If you want to buy it off eBay I recommend eTroniq, has every sort of drive for any Akai (and other) and will explain everything you need to know.

Also remember hd's usually ship with a cable that's not suited for a 2kxl, and that the one you do need may be hard to find or expensive.

It's usually the SCSI HD50 (back of MPC2KXL) to SCSI Centronics 50 (back of external hard drive).
