Sampling from films...

Im looking for a piece of software that I can use to record audio from films played through something like windows media player. Ive downloaded a couple of programs and they dont seem to work. Any recommendations!? Ive also put the film straight into cool edit, and there is a weird glitchiness in the sound. any ideas!?

And if that dont work you could always just go out to your MPC the long way??

i record what is played back
i have an onboard soundcard tho.. doesnt work with most hi end cards
i do this with cep
otherwise, connect a cable from audio out 2 audio in and simply press record
piece of cake :)

I either import the video file into soundforge, sample from Spdif out, or burn to a DVD and sample from my XBox.

you guys should really check this out, it lets you record any sound that comes thru your computer speakers. mindows media, real player, i tunes, anything that is played thru the comp speakers. you just press record and thats it.

i also think there is a program where you can sample dvd's and the program records different channels, not sure but i think it was something about the sound on some dvd's are surround so it would be in different channels so you could get a voice without the background noise etc.

im not 100% sure of this cus i did'nt read the hole post (another forum)
at the time i saw the thread, i did'nt have any use of a program like that so i did'nt pay much attention... anyway if i find it i'll post a link

the best way IMO is to go from yoyur monitor on your pc with a 1/8 inc. side and rca on the other and gointo a recorder or your mpc and record it that way. that how i 'd do it , but thats just me, i like analog sound, so i would record it to tape and sample from that..
