And I think, given time it could turn out to be a bit of a 'cult' box...

just maybe....

I will keep it until it falls apart. My son needs to graduate for FL Studio. I just got this crack head for a 4k for 500 dollars :D (new in the box) but I'll keep the 1k to travel with.

no sense selling. just make it work. as most producers say . stick to one machine. only using a mpc1000 and turntable mixer. learning new things almost everyday. dont have time and patience to learn a new machine. master what you have. if you cant a different mpc or sampler wont make you better....

side note. wtf is up with people complaing about pads  . having bigger and softer pads wont do anything for your beat making skills. i wouldnt mind having softer pads but that isnt on my list right now of things that i really really need.. i would like a new faceplate cause i bent mines the first time i tried to take it off. and if i could get the black i would. but also this isnt really big a deal to me.

erph. whats up with the hell no i love it too much . lmao. cant it just be that no its a very decent piece of equipment...

Ha ha, yeah good one. Crackhead is likely to come back and take it off you when he's smoked that 500 of crack.

Not selling mine..ive taken the time to learn the machine and i feel confortable w/ the 1k alongside my other equipment and software. I think folks are more concerned w/ image thats why their selling their 1k's so fast. Folks gotta realize its the man behind the machine not the features..even if you get some extra features on the 2500 it wont make you a better beatmaker. Its what you put into it that counts.

was thinking of selling mine to get a MPC 60...

after some tweaking i decided not to.

mainly I realized that I could get my drums to sound how I want with the 1k, without that much effort.

What made me really love the 1k alot was putting my mixer (Mackie) AFTER it instead of before...this seems obvious but I had it before the 1k to route my sample sources. This combination of MPC 1000/ analog mixer gets me the sound/ flexibility I want....

SO I will remain a 1k owner for awhile longer. Nice drum machine.

Its good to see that the poll results are in favor of keeping the 1K. For real, it's still more bang for the buck. As with any MPC (or any other piece of gear) parts wear and need replacing. No big deal. That's just the nature of hardware. The size of the pads really dont bother me at all (and I used to work with the 2k back in the day). If anything, its only the height of the pads that are a bit smaller (and really not by much). ReCycle kicks ass, tracking audio from the MPC into a software sequencer is easy (thank you Sparq), and syncing to Reason is even easier (I already knew how, but I gotta thank Penfold for taking the time to explaining it to others). Blue Box really makes things easier (thank you Wax Aegis).

I really prefer Blue Box over creating kits in the MPC. The main reason why is that I can find all my samples alot quicker on my computer and when I'm done creating pgms with Blue Box, I can copy them on my CF card and now just have a CF card with complete pgms that I can easily load up as opposed to digging through folders and putting more wear on the MPC's buttons. So not only do I have everything organized, but I preserve the lifespan of the buttons much longer.
