Time Spent

yo i spent about 8 hours today putting together just the fukin loop base for a beat. usually i dont spend so much time on such attention to detail, but i had some time set aside today and i thought i'd go all out and try and perfect something rather than just throw a joint together.

i'm pleased with the results. spending time getting 2-3 short loop seqs to sound exactly how i want has been really satifying today.

my ears are dead now been listening to the same ish for tooooo long!

You think you've heard too much of the loop? I've been working on the same three songs for eight weeks now, 14 hours a day. Had to take a break yesterday, just took the day off and did nothing, sweet!

i hope dem songs are hot.

funny how some songs take no time at all.....others take weeks....i commiserate with you guys.

I average about 40 hours for a broadcast ready 4 min piece...

you never have to settle for less. if it takes you 10 takes to record that one guitar the way you WANT it, do it.

if it takes a week to completely get the beat how you want do it. you'll be more satisfied with the results.

Very true, but the problem with me is, it can always be a little bit better, I just have to set myself goals and dates or i could work on a track forever.

Thanks D, I'll post the lot up in your music when they're ready. We still got to put the cuts on them, our djs doing the ITF and we just waiting till hes done.
We'll be doing a more dj friendly version too, not as many glitches and a lot more beat.
The beat sounds dope in a club too, our dj used it in his dmc set this year, we cut him some records and beats etc. He got through the world eliminations but unfortunately didn't place! He'll be all over the second track on the demo.
