MPC Question? The New Blue 2000xl vs. The Old Grey version?

What are the differences between these two models?

Are the flash and memory stick options the only difference? If so, can you save more on a flash stick than you can on a Zip Drive?

I used to have a 2000xl (the grey one) and I sold it due to money problems.

I'm looking to buy it again but there's a blue one out.
Are the pads the same? Because I didn't like the MPC 1000 pads, I found them to be a bit stiff.


What are the pros and cons of the Blue vs. The Grey model?

or is the blue just completely better?

one looks like a smurf the other like a cash register.

i think thats akai way of gettin people to buy there peoduct is all most equip. is grey an balck so they tried something else , as for operating them i don't think theres a difference in software in less one has abetter os but i dont think so.

The only difference between the two models is that the blue model (known as the MPC 2000xl MCD) has a multi media card drive where as the older grey version has a floppy disk drive. The blue model can also read from an external zip drive as it has a SCSI port at the back. The bonus is that multi media cards can hold up to as much as 1GB, maybe more. Where as floppy disks are limited to a mere 1.44MB - WHACK!

all 2000xl's have a scsi port. there were both grey and blue models that were made with a factory zip drive as well. other than the newer blue one coming with the MCD (which can also be installed in the older models) there is no difference between the two besides the fact that the blue one is ugly as hell.
