Does anybody have any techniques they could share on transcribing drum patterns away from the mpc?
I find myself in class or on the bus often wanting to write down a pattern thats in my head.
at the moment i just use symbols or letters for different drum hits along a singular line. i divide the line into sections depending on how many bars.
ex.
k-Xk--X-k-Xk--X
thats a really bad example but you get the idea
Any drummers who know actual methods of transcription or any other methods that work well with programming drums, please share...
