Anyway the secret to basslines theory wise is finding the root of the key that your in. Once u have that you just follow the root chourd notes(usually 3rds 3, 5 7 etc,,). Change the order of the notes your playing, if u wanna get frisky add some diminshed & augmented versions of the root chourd in there.
IF u want that jazzy blues feel you just use the penatonic scale of the key that your in and throw in some blue notes
A rule of thumb, 99% of basslines are second or third inversions of the root chourd.(usually triads or M7 chourds) with optional agumentation to give a jazzy feel
If im confusing you i really dont mean to, point is, if u got an ear for it follow that and develope it. I could always make basslines before i knew any theory(when i was younger and played bari sax)
it really aint hard if you got the ear, ish just pops in your head
but if u aint got that natural abilitiy, look up what i said theory wise ,it should put you on the right track.
