WHY BUY AN MPC?

I'm intrested in getting an MPC. Can any body tell me what the pros and cons are to using an MPC as opposed to a softsampler or just programming a drum pattern on, say, Cubase SX with a freeware sampler?

Juan...It's a tired topic on this forum.....do a search and read a million opinions but understand it's a MPC forum - of course we like the machine....
